Trekking

Gimmelwald and Murren

Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau are the three major peaks that dominate the Langwald valley. Both the peaks and the huge glaciers that descend from their top can be seen best on the left side of the valley.
With this plan we also started our journey. I took the cabin from Lauterbrunen to Gruetschalp. From here there are at least 2 trails that allow us to take the distance to the village of Gimmelwald, in addition and there is the possibility to take the train. We opt for the lower altitude route that largely accompanies the railway because the others are still covered by snow this part of the year.
The view is really beautiful and the Murren and Gimmelwald villages are picturesque. It seems that besides skiing and trekking these two are well positioned for both paragliding and base jumping.
On the return to avoid walking the same route in the opposite direction, we descend directly from Gimmelwald to Stechelberg along an impressive canyon.
