Laugavegur is a 55km hiking route in southern Iceland. The route starts from the Landmannalaugar geothermal springs to the Þórsmörk nature reserve located in the valley of the same name. The wide and dramatic valley of Þórsmörk lies at the foot of Eyjafjallajökull, an active volcano. The trail runs through breathtaking landscapes, which cross canions, glaciers and multicolored rhyolite mountains. From the Þórsmörk reservation you can continue for about 27km further to Skogar. Below are some pictures from our tour taken in August.
