The second snowshoes tour of this season, scheduled in Retezat, was a lucky one. If the day before, a new layer of snow of approx. 30 cm dressed the forest on Saturday morning the sun came out and what followed was a very beautiful day.
With accommodation in Gențiana, in fact, and the only high-altitude cabin open over winter in Retezat, we explored the Pietrele and Stănișoara valleys outside the paths beaten by most tourists. The pleasant surprise was the Stanișoara valley, still untouched by man after the last snows.
