Winter hiking in the Ţarcu Mountains

Short Description: If you like snow and you do not mind the cold, then I invite you to a hike on snowshoes. We will cross beech and spruce forests, we will pass by the shepherds houses buried in the snow on our way. If the weather is favorable, we can admire the main ridge of the Ţarcu mountains. At the same time, we will be familiar with the use of the safety equipment required for a winter shift (DVA / Probe / Shovel) we will learn how to prepare a winter tour (choosing the route, location of the weather forecast, snow condition, etc.)

Short Description: Picturesque villages, caves, gorges, spruce forests are just some of the attractions of the Apuseni Mountains. If all of these add a thick 70cm snowy layer, we get the perfect place for a hiking on snowflakes. On this two-day trip we plan to follow the road from Vartop to Cetatii Ponorului, where we will stay overnight. From here, we will walk to Poiana Ponor in the evening, most probablu with help of headlights. Sunday morning we visit Cetățile Ponorului and then take the backpacks and head for the house.

Short Description: We plan to do a nice hike in the Ţarcu Mountains. Because it’s already a thick layer of snow so we can move easily, we’ll use snowshoes (which we have at our disposal).
Besides the walk in nature and beautiful pictures during this tour, we will be familiar with the use of the safety equipment required for a winter tour (DVA / Sonda / Shovel) we will learn how to prepare a winter tour (choosing the route, location of the weather forecast, snow condition, etc.)

                                            Winter hiking in Făgăraș Moutains

Short Description: On this two-day trip we aim to get out on the main ridge of the Fagaras Mountains along the route that follows the Moaşa’s edge. We will leave Saturday morning in Timisoara and then we will take the route to Suru hut. Sunday morning we will climb to the ridge and then drive down to the cars.

Short Description: The “Școala Altfel” program is a good opportunity to learn things that are not necessarily in the curriculum. This includes and hiking (trekking) all it’s “disciplines” that includes: guidance, food, equipment, rules of visiting national parks that protected areas.
1. Virtual tour Retezat National Park – the oldest national park in Romania but also one of the most beautiful. Images and maps with which children will be able to find landmarks. We will talk about the rules that we have to respect when we go there.
2. Preparation hiking – because soon the weather will allow us to go hiking learn: how to dress, what to put in the bag and not least the equipment needed. And to make it easy for us, we will have videos, backpacks, tents and all the necessary equipment for hiking.

                                            Summer Camp in Orăștiei Moutains

Period:  1–7 July

Short Description: Situated at the foot of the Şureanu Mountains (also known as the Orăştiei Mountains), the guesthouse we have chosen for the camp offers accommodation in rooms of 2, 3 persons and for those who want to stay with friends we are at disposal and 2 each with 2 bedrooms. The location also has a swimming pool: http://pensiunea-daniela.ro/

The pension has a micro-farm reason why the dishes come mostly from their own production.Situated near the Dacian fortresses, it is the perfect location for easy walks in nature, but also for visits to important historical sites.

1. Hiking on the Peak of Gradiştea Muncelului, the sacred mountain of the Dacians
2. Hiking to the Blidaru fortress
3. Guided visit to the Corvin Castle
4. Guided visit to Sarmisegetusa Regia
5. Activities specific to an adventure camp:
• Making an improvised shelter
• choosing a camping site and installing tents
• Field orientation with map and compass;
• Fishing techniques using improvised materials (eg jar)

7. Creation workshops: We will build our own toys from materials found in nature or even recyclable materials

Short Description: Some landmarks that we are considering for this trip: Trekking on Laugavegur trail (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tW42_HQPCQ) a route that National Geographic magazine place it in the “first 20 trekkings in the world” ; Golden Triangle: Pingvellir, Gulfoss, Geysir; fishing villages; bird watching; a trip on the glacier and, of course, visiting the Reykjavik capital.
